How does shuttle parking work?
With shuttle parking you drive yourself to a car park near Schiphol. You check in, park the car or leave it at a designated spot, and get on a shuttle bus that takes you to the departure hall. After your trip you contact the provider or go to the agreed pick-up point, and the shuttle takes you back to your car. This page only shows shuttle providers at Schiphol.
Who is a shuttle a good choice for?
Shuttle parking suits you if you do not mind planning a little extra time. With many providers you park yourself and keep your key, although this differs per provider. Because the car parks are outside the airport grounds, for example in Hoofddorp, Rozenburg or Schiphol-Rijk, there is usually a short drive to the terminal. How long that ride takes according to the provider is shown with each offer.
Allow enough time
The transfer time is the time of the ride itself. On top of that, allow time to check in, load your luggage and possibly wait for the next shuttle. A few tips:
- ask whether the shuttle runs at fixed times or on request;
- check whether the shuttle also runs at night or very early in the morning if your flight leaves at an unusual time;
- check how many people and how much luggage are included in the price;
- keep the provider's phone number handy for your return journey.
Prices for your trip
A low price per day does not say everything: providers build their rates differently, for example with a higher amount for the first days and a lower amount per extra day. So look at the total price for your whole period. Enter your drop-off and pick-up time in the search form to see the price for exactly your days. Before you book, you see the total price and the provider's conditions, such as cancellation and arrival instructions.
What else to look out for
Besides the price, also look at the facilities of the car park, such as camera surveillance, a fenced site or indoor parking, and at extras such as a charging point. Read the cancellation terms and what the provider does if your flight is delayed.
